Frequently asked questions

  • Is there a certain order that I should join the communities?
    You must be a SMART Ambassador before you can start your journey to become a SMART Certified Trainer. You don’t have to be an expert with SMART hardware and software, just a passionate educator. All are welcome to join.
  • What is the timeframe for acceptance into a community?
    In most cases, it takes fewer than 5-10 business days to be accepted into a community. But the good news is that we can usually process in less time. If you haven't heard from us, please reach out to globalcommunities@smarttech.com
  • Are all the communities free?
    Yes, all of our communities are free to join and rich in connections!
  • How can I earn professional development hours?
    The SMART Academy offers a variety of coursework to earn PD hours. Choose from iQ or GX pathways to ensure learning is relevant to you. Learn more and enroll today by visiting The SMART Academy.
  • What certifications can I earn?
    At this time, you can earn a Level 1 SMART Educator and SMART Certified Trainer certification. We will have additional opportunities for certification coming soon. Stay tuned!
  • Can I get professional development hours for becoming a SMART Certified Trainer?
    Yes, you will get 12 professional development hours when you complete the SMART Certified Trainer Program.
  • Do I need to be an ambassador before I apply to become a SMART Certified Trainer?
    Yes. In order to become a SMART Certified Trainer you must be enrolled as an ambassador. We encourage you to become an ambassador today!
