What’s New in Lumio: November 2024

Hello, teachers! As we move well into the new year, we’re excited to share some recent feature improvements to Lumio that can spice up your teaching experience.

In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at the latest updates and how they can save you time and support you in the classroom making it easier to focus on what you do best: teaching. Whether you’re a seasoned user or just starting to explore Lumio, there’s something here for everyone.

Let’s get started!

AI Assist (Beta)

We’re very excited to announce that AI is in the works for Spark subscribers! For a limited time users who sign up for Beta access can test it out. Join Lumio Beta today by clicking your avatar in the top right corner and selecting “Join Lumio Beta”.

This innovative tool saves teachers time by using AI to generate standards-aligned questions and answers for quiz-based activities, including Response, Monster Quiz, Team Quiz, Game Show, and Speedup. AI Assist can create questions tailored to specific subjects and grade levels based on your written prompts.

An important note: AI Assist will be exclusive to the Spark plan and is only available to beta users for a limited time.

Love the features in the Spark plan? Share this brochure with your district admin so they can discover the benefits of the Lumio Spark plan, too!

Embedded Content

The new embedded content feature enables teachers to easily embed engaging video and music resources from ClickView and Flat for Education into their Lumio lessons. Find this feature on the “Add Page” screen.

Use the embedded content feature to create fun and exciting experiences by combining the video and music content with any of Lumio's interactive elements, such as game-based activities, Shout it Out!, and more.

Assignments in LMS

For our Spark users, we have some exciting news! You can now assign Lumio files to your students directly within Canvas and Schoology platforms. It’s a great way to integrate your lessons and keep everything organized in one place!

Creation in Shared Libraries

For our Spark users, we have an exciting addition to Shared Libraries. Teachers can now build Lumio files and activities from scratch in Shared Libraries.

If you’re new to the Spark plan, Shared Libraries make it simple and flexible for teachers to collaborate, share resources, and co-edit on lessons. All Lumio users can view or edit a shared library, but only those with a Spark plan can create them. Dive in and discover how easy it is to connect and share with your fellow educators!

New Stickers

Now there is even more fun to be had with creation and feedback! A ton of new stickers have been added, and it's easier than ever for you and your students to add them to handouts, whole-class whiteboards and group workspaces with just one click. Show us how stickers are being used in your Lumio lessons - tag us on socials @lumiosocial on Instagram or X!

New Languages

Olá! Buna ziua!

We’re happy to share that Lumio is available in two additional languages: Portuguese and Romanian.

These latest updates to Lumio are designed with your teaching needs in mind. These improvements are all about supporting you in creating a dynamic learning environment while making your day-to-day tasks a little smoother. We can’t wait for you to try them out!
