Set in the serene countryside of Pendle, UK, YESFest set off on a mission to empower youth and celebrate sustainability. The organization brought together passionate and innovative minds for a day of inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and unforgettable festivities.
Aimed at igniting positive change through sustainability, YESFest provides young leaders, aged 8-10, with the tools, skills, knowledge, and inspiration to take meaningful action on environmental issues. The event brings together schools from across the UK, including London, Leeds, Cardiff, and four local schools from Burnley, to participate in small, medium, and large eco projects that can make a positive impact in their communities and the real world.
We were proud to supply a SMART Board MX series for the festival to make this experience interactive, engaging, and collaborative for all participants. This interactive technology was crucial in connecting the students to the broader environmental community and providing hands-on learning opportunities.
One of the highlights of YESFest was the live connection established between the students and experts at the Eden Project, a ‘global garden’ that houses diverse plant species from around the world, dedicated to promoting sustainability and education.
By connecting virtually through the SMART Board, students had the unique opportunity to interact with Tom and Rob from the Eden Project and take a tour through their rainforest. Students experienced rare species of trees and animals, learning about their impact on their environment, all while gathered at Harwes Farm, Pendle.
Students then participated in various workshops and sessions that took their learning outside and into nature. These activities were designed to inspire the students and provide them with practical skills and knowledge to start their own eco projects. Whether it was learning about local wildlife, understanding the importance of conservation, or exploring sustainable practices, the students were engaged and motivated to take action.
YESFest plays an important role in inspiring young students to recognize their ability to make a difference.
