SMART Tools (including Floating Tools) stop responding .
SMART Tools stop responding if the pen tray status of a SMART Board 600 series interactive whiteboard changes from connected to disconnected while SMART Tools are open. This is either because the pen tray is disconnected from the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, or there is a communication error between the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and the computer.
Download and install the latest version of SMART Board Drivers from SMART’s support site.

Installing the drivers may take several minutes. Once they are installed, you can activate SMART Board Tools by clicking the SMART Board icon in the notification area and selecting Show Floating Tools, or by opening the SMART Technologies folder in the Start menu’s list of programs and selecting SMART Board Drivers > SMART Board Tools.
If this doesn’t resolve the issue, check the pen tray to make sure it’s securely connected to your SMART Board interactive whiteboard. Also check that the cable connecting the SMART Board interactive whiteboard to the computer is securely fastened. Then, restart your computer.
