Upgrading the Unifi 35 Projector’s Firmware

Overview

This document explains how to upgrade your Unifi 35 projector.

Details

To upgrade your firmware, complete the following procedures.

To determine your projector’s current firmware version

  1. Press the Hide/Show Menu button on the left side of the pen tray.

  2. Select Settings > System Information.

  3. Take note of your firmware version to the right of SMART FW Ver.

To download and install your Unifi projector’s firmware

  1. Visit the Unifi 35 Projector Firmware download page. If your current firmware version is earlier than the version listed on the website, click Download.

  2. Open the file after it’s finished downloading.

    The Unifi Update Wizard appears.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement (if you agree with them), then click Next.

  5. Click Next to accept the default destination folder.

  6. Click Install to begin the installation.

    The Software Installation dialogue box appears.

  7. Click Continue Anyway.

  8. Select Launch Unifi Update Wizard, and then click Finish.

    The Unifi Update Wizard closes and the Unifi Projector Update Wizard appears.

To bypass the extended connection panel (ECP)

  1. Turn off the Unifi projector and allow it to cool until the status light stops blinking red, indicating that the projector is in Standby mode.

  2. Disconnect the white USB B connector from the projector.

  3. Connect a spare USB cable by connecting the USB B connector into the projector and the USB A connector to your computer.

To continue installation of your Unifi projector’s firmware

  1. Press and hold the projector’s up button and then press and hold the power button whilst holding the up button.

    The orange status light on the projector blinks rapidly.

    A Found New Hardware message balloon appears.

    A Found New Hardware Wizard appears.

  2. Select No, not this time, and then click Next.

  3. Select Install the software automatically, and then click Next.

  4. Click Continue Anyway in the Hardware Installation dialogue box.

  5. Click Finish when the Found New Hardware Wizard is complete.

A Found New Hardware balloon appears in the notification area and the Unifi Projector Update Wizard appears.

To complete the Unifi Projector Update Wizard

Note  

If the update wizard doesn’t automatically appear, browse to C:\Program Files\Unifi Update Wizard and double-click Unifi 1.2.13.0-Updater.exe.

  1. Click Next.

    The projector’s status light blinks orange.

    Note  

    Do not complete the six steps in the following dialogue box.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Select Yes, and then click Next to run the firmware update.

  4. Click Next after the firmware update is complete.

  5. Click Finish, and then turn off the Unifi projector.

To check if the firmware upgrade succeeded

  1. Disconnect the spare USB cable and then reconnect the white USB B connector that runs from the ECP to the projector.

  2. Turn on the Unifi projector.

  3. Press the Hide/Show Menu button on the left side of the pen tray.

  4. Select Settings > System Information.

    Check that your firmware version is the same as the version you downloaded and installed.
