Session Contents
An on-site training session includes the following distinct modules:
- Introduction to SMART Notebook Maths Tools: Become familiarised with SMART Notebook Maths Tools, how they work, and how they can be used to enhance your maths lessons
- Measurements Tools: Learn how to insert a ruler, protractor or compass into a SMART Notebook page with ease, and use it as a measurement, demonstration and drawing tool
- Advanced Shapes: Learn how to use the advanced shapes tool to create geometrical shapes that can be used as virtual manipulative or diagrams within your lessons
- Creating and Solving Equations: Learn how to convert written maths expressions and equations to a form that can be edited, calculated and applied to other SMART Notebook Maths Tools functions
- Graphing and Plotting: Learn how to create and display graphs of plotted points and data from tables and equations
- Additional resources: Discover further resources available to help you make the most of SMART Notebook Maths Tools and other SMART products in your classroom
Who Should Attend
Any Maths or Science teacher whose classroom is equipped with a SMART Board interactive whiteboard and SMART Notebook Maths Tools. You must have experience with SMART Notebook software prior to attending this training.
Customer Requirements
- All participants must have basic computer skills and have completed a SMART Notebook Level 1 training prior to attending this session
- A SMART Board interactive whiteboard (necessary for trainer to deliver the presentation)
- A facilitator computer (provided by the facilitator). The facilitator computer must connect to the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. If your network security prohibits connection of an outside computer, a facilitator computer must be provided.
- One computer per learner (1:1 ratio)
- Every computer must have the SMART Notebook Maths Tools installed for this training session
- Learners should bring specific lesson ideas that apply to SMART Notebook Maths Tools, so they can have something to work on during the session and take home
- LAN – wired or wireless. A 10 Mbps TCP/IP network interface adapter is required
- All computers must have the most recent version of Adobe Flash installed
- Internet access
