A new touch technology has been developed by SMART Technologies Inc. Enabling not only precise, intuitive touch control but also superior image quality, DViT (digital vision touch) technology is a dramatic progression in touch-system development.

With DViT technology, you touch a surface to control computer applications, navigate websites or write notes. Digital cameras and sophisticated software detect the contact and translate it to your computer as mouse activity. No special pen tools are required because the technology can detect any object within view.

DViT now recognizes touch gestures as well. With both the Rear Projection SMART Board interactive whiteboard and the SMART Board for Flat-Panel Displays interactive overlay, you can scroll simply by placing two fingers on the touch-sensitive screen and dragging them either up or down, or side to side.

You can also place your finger on the screen and touch another finger to the right of it for a right mouse click. These advanced mouse features simplify editing, formatting and scrolling.

DViT technology requires no active, layered screen because the digital cameras are in a bezel, not in the surface. It’s ideal for rear-projection and flat-panel systems that demand high-quality, clear images.
