Mr. Phillips currently works as an investor and consultant through his own company. He also serves as a corporate director on the boards of a number of privately held companies. His past experience includes serving as executive vice president, carrier relations and general counsel at a large telecommunications company until its acquisition in October 2000. He then worked in the same capacity with the acquiring company until his resignation in December 2001. He has also worked with the Canadian Wireless Communications Association, serving as chair in 1998 and 1999, and as a vice-chair until April 2003. Mr. Phillips spent the first 20 years of his career with a large law firm, where he practiced business law and was a partner from 1982 to 1994. He received a BA in 1971 and a law degree in 1974. |
